My Story

Born in raised in Brockton Massachusetts, Growing up I was raised by my mother and grandmother who both immigrated to the US from the Cape Verde islands. My mom came to America like many other for a better quality of life, due to my mothers hearing disabilities and language barrier its always been hard for to properly communicate, so she's always had to settle for low wage factory jobs to provide for me and my 2 siblings. Watching my mother sacrifice so much energy and physical strain for these jobs throughout the years really fueled my desire for freedom in my life not only for control of my own destiny but also to relieve my mother of the weight she carries to provide for her family.

I remember when I was younger I watched alot of YouTube family channels, While watching I would always say that I wanted to be the kids I watched and never understood why I had to be the unlucky one with a boring life, As a kid I dreamed of being in their shoes and experiencing all this spontaneous fun and constantly enjoying life. As I reflect on it I see what I really wanted in my life was a passion, I wanted to do something that would make me happy, give me control over my destiny and a sense of freedom, As I kept watching, my desire for this grew and my focus was shifting to finding solutions on how I could achieve this in my own life and that lead me to the world of business. 

Trading Journey 

When I was approaching my 18th birthday, I started to ask myself and look for solutions on what I could do now to change how my future looks and that how I introduced myself to stocks. As soon as the I turned 18—I started invested my savings into different stocks and even opened a retirement account. It was exhilarating at first but as I kept investing it became normal, At the same time, I also started my career at Stonehill College and due to my mothers financial situation the responsibility of tuition bills and expenses were all on me. I then started asking myself how else can I leverage my investments to create income, and while not having to give up too much time, taking action to find a awnser to that question is how I started my, now 3 year trading journey where I have developed my own personal winning strategy, and developed the best growth mindset I still have today. This helped me realize the power of information and how it can slowly transform and expand your insights on whats really possible for yourself. Trading planted seeds that have made me successful financially and mentally today. 

Digital Marketing Journey 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I had so much extra time on my hands. I didn't have any real passions or ambitions that I was pursuing but I knew I wanted to work on something that could make me returns from home. Through youtube I was able to discover dropshipping and affiliate marketing. I didn't know then that I would later graduate with a BS in Marketing as I was still in my trading era, I was aiming towards finance when I first got to college but I enrolled in my first course and, within six months, earned $10,000 in passive income running a storefront. This success even though it was a small compared to whats possible it fueled my passion for entrepreneurship and led me towards where I am with my brand Donyae today. This is where I learned the importance of Marketing and how powerful being an entrepreneur was in correlation to fulfilling my desire for freedom financially and mentally. 

College Journey

Fast forward to 2025 and I am graduating Stonehill College, with a Bachelors in Science for Marketing. My college experience was great and molded alot of my views on life. I feel that college is where I was able to really piece together, who I was and what my purpose was. Before college I only understood business through the lens of entertainment but college allowed me to understand business from the inside and out for what it really was and broke down exactly how wealth is built, maintained and constantly growing. It showed me processes that I didn't know existed before and implemented skills in my life that made me more strategic and feel more purposeful in my business ventures. This experience showed me how to find value within your own vision and dreams and that how Donyae was born, as a reflection, a vision I once had and now have turned to value for others.
